I just posted, but I can not resist telling you all how perfect the weather is this afternoon. It’s dark, cloudy, cool, and rainy! My favorite kind of afternoon, if I wake up to weather like this in the morning, it’s really hard for me to really get up and get going. But, after a hot try morning, there’s nothing better for reading, snuggling up for a movie, or posting a blog, than a cool, rainy afternoon.
You city people are going to be so jealous, you’ll just have to imagine how beautiful it is. I’m sitting by the window, the curtains are waving in the breeze. The breeze is cool on my arms and face, and it smells delicious. You know the smell of wet pines and dirt, and fresh air right after rains, that’s what it smells like. The sky is dark and the thunder rumbles in and out. It doesn’t get any more beautiful than this. Absolutely lovely.

I was in the mountains the other day and it rained and thudered and where I was the window was open and the smell of wet pines, dirt and fresh is the very beautiful and breathe taking. I enjoy that type of weather. Just wish we has more of those days. Thanks for sharing.
I love that smell. I’m envious. I also love the smell of the pinons after they heated up in the afternoon sun – but that much more appreciable if you get to sit under one, not having to work in the heat.
You know, it only smells that way in the desert. In every other place we’ve lived, if the humidity is higher than dust, the conifers don’t smell. But where you are….. I could never breathe deeply enough to satisfy the longing that heady fragrance engenders.
You’re right, it was beautiful. I was glad to know it does actually rain here.
